We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to become a part of TransCamp’s journey!

Applications are now open for the TransCamp Board of Directors. This is a unique opportunity to directly shape the future of TransCamp and make a significant, positive impact on our community.

 

We’re looking for dedicated individuals who are passionate about building trans community and eager to contribute their skills and vision. Whether you have experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, community outreach, or simply a deep commitment to our mission, your perspective will be invaluable. We’ll consider all applications, regardless of non-profit experience.

As a member of our Board of Directors, you will play a crucial role in charting the course for the future of our organization. This is your opportunity to influence the direction of our programs, help shape our strategic goals, and drive the success of our mission from the ground up.

Open Roles:

  • Secretary

Key Commitments:

  •  2-year term
  • Attend at least 2 camping trips and half of all day events (annually)
  • Attend board meetings (annually)
    • 1 in-person intro meet
    • Attend 1-2 hr monthly virtual meetings
  • Note: TransCamp is 100% volunteer run. All board roles are unpaid.

 

 

Criteria:

  • Identify as trans*
  • Commit to the values outlined by TransCamp
  • Commit to be an ambassador of TransCamp’s mission and vision

It is important for the effectiveness our mission that we have individuals on our board that are representative of the people we serve, including:

  • BIPOC 
  • Trans Femmes 
  • Individuals with Disabilities 
  • Trans people younger than 25 and over 50 years old 

We highly encourage folks with these lived experiences to apply so that together we can better serve our trans community.

Prior experience on a board of directors not necessary for eligibility.

Timeline:

  • Oct 22, 2025 : Board application opens
  • Nov 15 : Application deadline
  • Nov 17 – Dec 3  : Interviews!
  • Dec 10 : All candidates hear back from us on selection
  • Dec 18 : Special meeting to officially elect the new board of directors
  • Dec 29, 2025 : Public announcement of the all new TransCamp board!
  • Jan 1, 2026 : Term begins for the new board of directors
  • Jan 19, 2026 : First annual board meeting

 

*The term “trans” is used as a loose umbrella term to describe an individual who identifies as transgender, non-binary, agender, gender non-conforming, etc. It can be used to describe anyone who does not identify as cisgender or their assigned gender at birth.
